Practice Areas

Psychiatrist services play a critical role in managing and treating mental health conditions. By providing a range of evidence-based treatments and services, psychiatrists can help individuals manage their symptoms, improve their quality of life, and achieve their goals.

01

Psychiatric Evaluation

A psychiatric evaluation aims to diagnose mental health conditions accurately and develop an appropriate treatment plan that meets the individual's specific needs. The assessment helps identify the type and severity of mental health conditions that the individual may be experiencing, as well as any co-occurring medical conditions or substance abuse problems.

04

Psychopharmacology

Psychopharmacology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study of the effects of drugs on the human brain and behaviour. It involves using medications to treat mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

02

Adult psychotherapy can help individuals with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. It can be an effective standalone treatment or used with medication, depending on the individual's needs.

05

Substance Abuse

Treatment for substance abuse typically involves a combination of detoxification, therapy, and support groups. Detoxification is the process of safely removing a substance from the individual's body. At the same time, therapy helps individuals address the underlying issues that may have contributed to their substance abuse.

03

Young Adult Psychotherapy

Young adult psychotherapy provides a supportive and non-judgmental space for young adults to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. It can help young adults navigate anxiety, depression, substance abuse, identity issues, and relationship difficulties.

06

Schizophrenia

Treatment for schizophrenia typically involves a combination of antipsychotic medication, psychotherapy, and support services. Antipsychotic drugs can help to reduce positive symptoms. In contrast, psychotherapy can help individuals learn coping skills, improve communication, and manage their symptoms. Support services such as vocational rehabilitation, housing assistance, and social skills training can also help promote recovery and improve functioning.
